POSTED: 6:35 am CDT November 2, 2007

(Sports Network) - Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai, New England Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel and San Diego Chargers punter Mike Scifres were selected as the AFC's top players for Week 8 of the NFL season.

Addai earned the offensive honor. He ran for 100 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving, as the Colts improved to 7-0 with a 31-7 victory at Carolina.

Vrabel picked up the defensive award, although he caught a touchdown pass in New England's 52-7 romp over Washington. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 13 tackles and tied his career high with three sacks and three forced fumbles as the Patriots improved to 8-0, setting up an undefeated showdown this Sunday with Indianapolis.

Scifres garnered the special teams honor this week, as he pinned the Houston Texans inside their 20-yard line on each of his five punts in San Diego's 35-10 triumph.
