Aaron Solomon

Aaron is the 2009 Associated Press news anchor of the year for the state of Tennessee. He is also the driving force behind Channel 4's Emmy nominated Cool Schools, which has featured thousands of Middle Tennessee high school students.

The Emmy winning journalist is glad to be teamed with his good friend Holly Thompson to wake up middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky on Channel 4 News Today, 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Aaron has strong local ties, growing up in Cannon County and graduating from Middle Tennessee State University. He joined Channel 4 in 1996 and spent most of his professional career in or near the mid-state helping deliver the news that YOU want and need to know.

He and his family are glad to be a part of the community. His wife, Angie, also grew up here -- in Jackson County, Tenn. Two children, and three furry family members round out Aaron's home.

Speaking of kids, he loves talking to young people, and if schedule permits, he never turns down a request to speak to our future leaders -- from preschool to college age -- so drop him a line if you're interested.

In his spare time, you can find him with his family, perhaps coaching one of his son's sports teams or just enjoying the great Tennessee outdoors.

He is a motivational speaker and is currently the honorary chair of the Annual Our Kids Klassic benefitting the Our Kids Center of Nashville.

He has also been involved with other charities over the years, including the Special Olympics of Tennessee and the honorary chair of Nashville's Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
