Deanna Lambert

Deanna is proud to call Nashville, Tenn., home. Originally from North Carolina, she joined the WSMV staff as a general assignment reporter in September 2008.

Deanna graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has a diverse history in television news that has earned her several awards. She started in television, working as a producer for WXII in Winston Salem, NC, before moving to New Orleans, La., in 2003. There, she rode out Hurricane Katrina on the 11th floor of a downtown hotel. Working at the time for NBC affiliate, WDSU Newschannel 6, she helped produce more than 15 hours of news the day before the category 4 storm made landfall.

After her 2 1/2 year stint in the Crescent City, Deanna spent 2 1/2 years covering news in the Florida Panhandle. She was the morning anchor at WMBB News 13 in Panama City, Fla. Her stories there earned her a few awards, such as the top prize in 2008 from the Florida Associated Press for her hard news report about the mysterious death of a healthy teenager found dead in the back of a car. In 2006, she won second place in general reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists for her emotional interview with the parents, who, at the time, were the parents of the highest ranking officer to die in the war in Iraq.

In 2007, Deanna was recognized for her volunteer work with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. She was nominated for and won the 2007 Outstanding Media Outlet/Personality from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Deanna got married in April 2009 to her longtime sweetheart. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, exercising, volunteering and spending time with friends and family.

Deanna loves hearing from those in the communities around middle Tennessee. Feel free to e-mail her, say hello and tell her what's happening in your neighborhood.
