August 1996: Janet March disappears from her Forrest Hills home. Perry March reports her missing two weeks later.September 1996: Police search the March home and property. Perry’s apartment and law office are also searched. Perry is labeled a suspect in the disappearance of Janet.May 1999: Perry March moves to Mexico with his two children.December 2004: Perry March indicted by Davidson County grand jury for second degree murder, theft and abuse of a corpse.August 2005: March is deported by Mexican authorities and transported to Los Angeles. Nashville authorities then travel to Los Angeles where they bring him back to face murder charges.February 2006: Arthur March pleads guilty to conspiracy charges in a murder-for-hire plot to kill Janet’s parent, Carolyn and Larry Levine. Arthur admits that his son told him he killed Janet.August 7, 2006: A Chattanooga jury is selected to hear the case.August 9, 2006: Trial begins in Nashville.
