A Nashville man who was supposed to stand trial for murder has pleaded guilty.

James Woods admitted Thursday to shooting three homeless men downtown in three separate attacks in December 2007.

He also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Francisco Ramos, who Woods shot and left for dead on the railroad tracks. A train hit Ramos and severed his leg, but he survived.

As part of the plea, Woods will serve 50 years in prison.
