NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Officers said a woman left three children home alone Monday in the Hickory Creek apartment complex on Nashville's south side.

Police said the children's aunt was supposed to be watching the 1-, 4- and 6-year-old children while their parents were at work, but a maintenance worker found the children without any supervision and called police.

Officers said the aunt had gone back to her own apartment. She has been cited for attempted child neglect, which is a misdemeanor.
