MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The city of Murfreesboro may have to give up $39,000 because of an error. In a letter sent to the mayor and city council Tuesday, the city attorney wrote that 18 houses on Osborne Lane weren't charged the appropriate fee for their sewer connection. The letter explains that the original homeowner, which is usually the builder, should have paid $2,500. Instead, they were only charged $300.A city spokesman wouldn't specify just how they believe the error occurred. The council will consider waiving the difference for those homes at its meeting Thursday night.
