NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Some state lawmakers are trying to make the unregulated sale of breast milk a crime.State Rep. Joe Towns Jr. said he's seen reports of people selling breast milk on eBay. He's concerned that the milk might have drugs or alcohol in it or that the mother might have been sick. He said breast milk should be screened like blood to make sure it's clean."You're an unsuspecting mother that's trying to do something to nutritiously support your child, and you end up with a sick child or even a dead child or a child that has a disease that's chronic, and we shouldn't allow that to happen," Towns said. This would not apply to breast milk banks or health care facilities that screen breast milk.
