A fire inside Parthenon Metal Works is out Monday, said LaVergne police.

Medical staff at the scene on Murfreesboro Road briefly checked on two people who had tried to put the fire out with extinguishers.

Firefighters were called and were able to put the fire out. It's unknown what caused the fire.

The biggest problem associated with the fire was traffic. Police blocked Parthenon Road while firefighters were at the scene.

The road is now open.
