Emergency crews are watching an active mudslide that has shut down a highway in Fentress County.

Sheriff's dispatchers said the mudslide is blocking Highway 85 south of Jamestown, also known as Wilder Road, at the area locals call "Insurance Curve."

No one has been hurt, according to dispatchers.

A picture sent from the scene by Fentress County Emergency Management Agency deputy director Josh Slaughter showed downed trees covering the road.

The slope started to give way at about 12 a.m. Monday. As of 7 a.m., crews said trees were still coming down. Dispatchers said crews will not be able to clear anything until the slide stops.
