NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A man was flown on Monday night from Todd County, Ky., to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for a gunshot wound.

Kentucky state police said the 22-year-old victim, Derrick Mallory, was shot by Shane Cunningham, 36.

Witnesses told officers that Cunningham shot Mallory with a .22-caliber handgun during an argument.

Mallory was wounded in the left leg. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Cunningham was arrested and taken to the Todd County Jail on first-degree assault charges.

It's unclear what the two men were arguing about.
