NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The old man's back in town, bringing a familiar jingle to hospital waiting rooms.
Watch This StoryFrom his head to his toes, he's all Claus. Santa, that is. The Mrs. is included."We look forward to it each year," Santa said.Jingling all the way through the waiting room, Mr. and Mrs. Claus are the picture of Christmas."I ask them have they been good. Most of 'em say yes."Underneath the Santa suit is Ray Fox. Mrs. Claus is his wife Greeta. The duo have been making the rounds at local hospitals every Christmas Eve for 12 years. For Christopher Lloyd, the Christmas guests could not have come at a better time. His dad was hurt Wednesday night."Helping somebody push their car off the road because it broke down, he got hit by a car. He got hit by a woman who wasn't paying attention," Lloyd said. While his dad is in surgery to repair two broken legs, Lloyd is passing the time playing cards with his uncle Travis.Although neither of them expected to be here on Christmas Eve, they also never expected to see Santa."It always brings back that feeling of 'Yeah, it's the holidays, no school, and Christmas,'" Travis Lloyd said while smiling. But this Santa is strictly a volunteer, here on his own time."Now that I know that, I see it in a different light," Travis Lloyd said, "especially in this day and time when it's hard to find people who are willing to help others out of the kindness of their heart."The kindness will continue. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Vanderbilt, Baptist, and Centennial hospitals on Christmas Eve. And they plan to do it again next year."We enjoy doing it," Santa said.
