Local and international union leaders for General Motors are meeting Tuesday in Detroit to figure out what to do with the equipment at the idled Spring Hill plant.

A newsletter went out last week hinting at something called "asset utilization," essentially meaning there's a plan in the works to move a lot of the manufacturing equipment from Spring Hill to another GM plant in Michigan.

According to the newsletter, the move would start in January.

The Spring Hill plant was idled last month, putting almost 2,000 employees out of work.
