NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Members of the 278th are deploying this weekend. They'll go to Camp Shelby in Mississippi to train before deploying to Iraq in February.The 278th is the largest National Guard combat unit in the state.Some cities are planning big community send-offs for their soldiers.In Cookeville, there's a ceremony Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Avery Trace Middle School.Saturday, Ashland City is hosting a departure event at 8:30 a.m. on the lawn of the Cheatham County Courthouse.
