The wreck happened at about 3 p.m. on Bates Road near Highway 109.

Investigators said the crash occurred when the bus stopped to let a couple of students off in front of their home. That's when a pickup truck driven by Phillip A. Houston, 64, of Lebanon, ran into the back of the bus.

Houston was killed when the truck became stuck underneath the bus.

Four children were on the bus after two had just gotten off, but none was injured. The bus driver, 60-year-old Shirley Davis, also was not hurt.

A juvenile passenger in the truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
