NEW JOHNSONVILLE, Tenn. -- A water main break Tuesday morning in New Johnsonville has customers without water service and has closed an elementary school.

The director of schools in Humphreys County announced classes are canceled Tuesday at Lakeview Elementary.

Officials at the city hall said the incident happened at about 5 a.m.

A 10-inch water main broke from one end to the other. It's the main water source for the city, and it was projected to be at least four to six hours possibly until worker could fix the issue.

About 875 customers were still without water at 9 a.m.
