MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- A parcel of land near the Stones River Battlefield will not be rezoned for commercial use.
Thursday night, the city council denied a request to rezone land north of Wilkinson Road for a 75-foot-tall building.Nearby residents were concerned about the amount of noise and traffic it could bring. Battlefield officials were against the idea as well.The planning commission still doesn't know what it will do with that land but will revisit it in March.
