Marisa A. Bradley was running the day care on Buck Cherry Way and performed CPR on the child at about 11:20 a.m.

Officer Kyle Evans said no foul play is suspected in what he called an unattended death. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Medics said the boy was cold to the touch except on his stomach area.

According to Bradley's Care.com profile, she has operated a day care out of her home for 10 years. She was the only adult in the home at the time.

There were at least nine children, four of whom were Bradley's, in the house.

"Once they care for that fifth child that's unrelated to them, they must get a license," said Michelle Mallory-Johnson, Department of Human Services spokesperson. "That's the definition of day care."

The mother of the boy who died said there are usually only four children at Bradley's home: her triplets and a 2-year-old girl. But Thursday was a half-day for Rutherford County schools, which is why there were nine children in the house.

The 3-month-old's parents said they met Bradley through mutual friends at church. The mother said Bradley told her she was licensed.
