The singer, who is half of the duo Big and Rich, took the stand to testify against Jared Ashley's allegations that he threatened and harassed him numerous times over the past year.

The assault and harassment charges were filed earlier this year.

Jared Ashley was a former Nashville Star reality show contestant who said he was friends with Rich for eight years before they had an altercation at Rich's club The Spot and at Legends Bar in downtown Nashville.

Ashley claimed when he was about to walk out of the business he "got sucker punched in the jaw."

However, several witnesses testified on Friday that never happened.

Rich said he took this case to court after Ashley requested $3 million to drop the charges.

"People read things across the country and assume that it's probably true. When it's not true, it's really hard to reverse something when it's already gone into gear like that," said Rich after the charges were dismissed.
