Police Search For Driver In Deadly Hit-And-Run

Crash Occurs In Donelson Friday Night

Metro police are searching for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in Donelson Friday night.

Officers said the collision happened at the corner of Donelson Pike and Royal Parkway at about 9 p.m.

Witnesses told officers the vehicle was a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, but they did not get a good look at the driver.

The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Larry W. Stacey. Police said Stacey, a Donelson resident, was not using the crosswalk that was located about 50 yards from the point of impact.

The SUV fled north on Donelson Pike.

Anyone with knowledge of it the crash or its driver is urged to contact police at 862-7738 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
