A constable in Henry County wants to make arrests, so he's taking his fight to court.

Constable Thomas Tharpe is suing Henry County and Sheriff Monte Belew.

A few months ago, the Henry County Commission voted to limit the powers of constables by prohibiting the elected law-enforcement officials from making arrests.

In the lawsuit, Tharpe is requesting that his arrest powers be reinstated through the end of his term.
