FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- About 8,500 electric customers in the Franklin and Cool Springs areas were without power Friday afternoon after a bird flew into a substation, according to the Middle Tennessee Electric Service.The problem occurred just after 3 p.m.Crews restored the power about 30 minutes later.
