Lawrenceburg False Alarms May Lead To Fine

10 Of 800 Burglary Calls Last Year Legitimate

False alarm calls are continuing to be a problem in Lawrenceburg -- so much so that the City Council is now working on an ordinance that would fine people.

Last year, the fire department went on 80 false alarm calls at homes and businesses when it turned out that the fire alarms were going off, but there was no fire.

Police had more than 800 burglary calls, and only 10 were legitimate.

City leaders are now considering fining people who have faulty systems in hopes it will cut down on calls and motivate people to get their alarms fixed.
