SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -- A lower speed limit may slow down drivers in Shelbyville.The city council is considering lowering the speed limit on Highway 231 to 55 miles per hour inside the city limits.The affected area would be about 2.5 miles north of Shelbyville to McDale Lane.Right now, the speed limit on 231 is 65 miles per hour.
