A representative with the Music City Star train said a suspicious package at the Lebanon station canceled 4:20 p.m. train service Tuesday afternoon.

A strange package was found on the tracks and was destroyed, said officials. The contents of the package were unclear or why it was on the tracks.

Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority and Regional Transportation Authority Publications Editor Wendy Smith said trains were released for their trip into Nashville to take evening commuters home.

The 5:05 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. trains departed the downtown Riverfront station on schedule, Smith said in a press release.
