Demian Rivera Pointed Gun At Police After Pharmacy Robbery, Police Say
A man shot by Franklin police tried to hang himself Saturday morning inside his cell in the Williamson County Jail, said the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.The department said a guard had spoken with him 10 minutes before his attempt.He is in the intensive care unit at the Williamson County Medical Center.Police said Demian Rivera pointed what looked like a gun at them after robbing the Kroger Pharmacy on Hillsboro Road last month.Police said he has robbed the same pharmacy before. Rivera, a convicted felon with a long criminal history, has been identified as the robber who hit the store Aug. 2, according to police.
