PEGRAM, Tenn. -- Cheatham County leaders are at odds over whether to shut down the Animal Control shelter there.According to the Ashland City Times, some county commissioners want to close the Pegram center and use the money to pay for fire and EMS services. But Mayor Bill Orange said shutting the shelter down would create problems. Many agree the shelter is under-funded. In fact, many of the volunteers there buy dog and cat food themselves just to keep it running.
