NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Harpeth Hall School is remembering one of its earliest leaders.Idanelle "Sam" McMurray died at her home in Cookeville over the weekend.McMurray, who suffered a stroke, was 84.She was the school's second headmistress. She led the school from 1963 until 1979 and is credited with creating a middle school on the campus.Harpeth Hall is an all-girls private school in Green Hills.
