NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A woman is recovering from stab wounds after she was attacked in a Target parking lot Tuesday night.
Police said the victim, Barbara Futter, 46, was walking to her car at the store on White Bridge Road in west Nashville at about 8 p.m. Tuesday when a man jumped out of a dark blue or black Ford Mustang and ran up to her.Police said Futter described the man hitting her in the back before taking her purse and driving off. When police checked the woman for wounds, they discovered she had been stabbed. Futter was taken to Saint Thomas Hospital, but police said the wounds are not life-threatening. She was still hospitalized in fair condition.Surveillance video from the store shows a commotion in the crowded parking lo and people running up to the store for help. It also shows the robber's car, which police hope will help lead them to the robber. The attacker is described as a black man in his 20s or early 30s with short hair who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.Investigators said they believe at least two people were inside the Mustang, which left Target after the incident and headed toward Harding Pike.
