Patrol Car Hit While Investigating Accident

Alcohol May Have Been Factor In Crash, Police Say

A Clarksville Police patrol car was damaged when it was rear-ended by a 2005 Lincoln LS, driven by Kenneth Davis, 20, of Fort Campbell, Ky.

The patrol car was parked with its blue lights on while the officer, Brad Holder, was investigating another accident on Interstate 24 between exits 8 and 11.

When the Lincoln hit the patrol car, it pushed it into the back of another vehicle, a Chrysler 300.

Neither the patrol car nor the Chrysler was occupied at the time of the crash.

Davis and two other Fort Campbell soldiers in the Lincoln -- Michael Miller, 22, and Steven Boyd, 23 -- were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

An investigation is under way, and charges are pending.
