NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A man on trial for the deaths of two Bellacino's pizzeria workers took the stand Thursday to defend his part in the deaths.
Ravaughn Harris is accused of driving a getaway car after the robbery, in which employees Chris Caris and Josh Cole died. Harris was one of four people arrested in connection with the shooting. The former Tennessee State University running back and criminal justice student said he was scared the night of the killings."He was just, like, in a trance," Harris said of Jason Bobo, "and I could tell that he wasn't in his self normally. He didn't normally act like that."Bobo has admitted shooting Caris and Cole. He is currently serving two life sentences as part of a plea deal reached this summer."He just told me, like, 'I think I just killed some people,'" Harris said. "At that point, I just went into, like, tunnel vision."Prosecutors believe the gun belonged to Harris and said that he bragged about the deaths while in jail.Prosecutors also said Harris lied more than 49 times."I just picked up this man that just killed two people," Harris said. "I was scared."
