NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A court date has been set for when a Davidson County judge will hear the lawsuit regarding the so-called guns-in-restaurants law. Will Cheek, a lawyer representing the plaintiffs, posted on his blog that the date has been set for Nov. 6.Several local restaurant owners and gun permit holders have filed an injunction. They want a court to decide whether the new law is constitutional.Opponents argue that it isn't, because the definition of a restaurant is too vague. If the court agrees, then guns will not be allowed in restaurants and bars until the Legislature returns in January.
