CULLEOKA, Tenn. -- When Maury County deputies raided Billy Ballinger's home in Culleoka looking for drugs, they found not only that but nearly $30,000 worth of stolen items underneath the house. Deputies found iPods, GPS devices, camera, binoculars, a bow-and-arrow set, a military bulletproof vest, a sword collection, chain saws, air compressors and air guns."We know that he's not the only one involved. He is not talking to us right now," said Detective Terry Dial.Detectives said the bulk of the property was taken during the last few years from people's cars and homes that were broken into throughout Marshall, Lawrence, Giles and Maury counties. While all of the items are valuable, Dial said when a camcorder was stolen, the thief grabbed something that's priceless: a family's video of their Christmas in 2007.Ballinger, who was arrested, said he bought the items from yard sales. He has only been charged with possession of stolen property.
