MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- A trial date has been set for a man who is facing charges in connection with the 2007 disappearance of his wife.Palmer Smith was charged on March 3 with fabricating evidence and filing a false police report in connection with his missing wife, Marcie.On Monday, a judge scheduled two motion hearings for Aug. 24 and Sept. 28. Smith's trial is to begin on Oct. 13.Marcie Smith has been missing since Dec. 6, 2007.In December 2008, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation received a map that gave specific information about where Marcie Smith's body could be found in west Tennessee.Using the map, the FBI and Murfreesboro police found bones while searching an area in Ripley, Tenn., however the bones were never connected to Marcie Smith.
