One of middle Tennessee's very own is jumping his way to stardom.

Jacob Ferguson, 10, from Hunters Bend Elementary School in Franklin is going to the national jump rope tournament in Texas.

Jacob is competing in the freestyle and speed events in the boys 10 and under category.

At regionals, he didn't qualify to compete in the freestyle event, but Jacob became eligible to compete when the first-place boy dropped out of the race.

Jacob will put his skills to the test Thursday.
