COLUMBIA, Tenn. -- A facility that helps drug addicts get clean may open up in a shopping center, and some people aren't happy about it.Recovery of Columbia wants to open a methadone clinic in Campbell Plaza, according to the Columbia Daily Herald.Methadone is a drug used to treat people addicted to opiates, particularly heroin.One councilman has expressed concerns about drug addicts hanging around the city's business district.The people who run the clinic said they would have security guards and that loitering would not be allowed.If the clinic is approved, it could open by January.
