GORDONSVILLE, Tenn. -- Hundreds of people will eventually go back to work in Smith County.The zinc mine in Gordonsville is going to reopen, though it's unknown when.A company from Belgium that also owns a smelting company in Clarksville has bought the bankrupt zinc mine for $14 million.For economic reasons, zinc is not as profitable as it should be.But the new owners of the mine said as soon as it is, production will begin and eventually they'll put 300 people to work.
