NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A witness to a fatal bar shooting that involved a karaoke business owner testified Wednesday morning that the alleged gunman apparently shot the victim shortly after being asked to leave the club. Police said Hank Wise, 43, faces murder charges in the death of Benjamin Goeser, 48, a local karaoke business owner.Wise is accused of shooting Benjamin Goeser in front of a crowd of customers at Jonny's Sports Bar last Thursday.Jennifer King, the manager-on-duty that night, testified Wednesday that she spoke with Wise moments before the shooting."I said, 'because we need to ask you to leave ... because you're making someone here uncomfortable,' and he said, 'Who?' and I said, 'I think you know who it is,'" said King.Benjamin Goeser and his wife, Nikki, were setting up their mobile karaoke business when the incident occurred.King testified before Thursday night, Nikki Goeser had never mentioned the name Hank Wise."It was enough to know that she was definitely distressed over the situation," said King.King said that when Nikki Goeser asked her to throw Wise out of the bar, she approached him and he calmly pulled out a gun."He unzipped his jacket, and I reached my hand out onto his jacket, and I put my hand right over the zipper, and I felt it," said King. "I saw the tip of the gun ... and that's when I heard the gunshot."She said several men in the bar tackled Wise after the shooting and held him down until police got to the scene."He was on the bottom, and they looked like they had him under control," King said. After investigating, police learned that Wise had been sending inappropriate Internet messages to Nikki Goeser. Wise had been asked by Benjamin Goeser to stop sending the messages before the shooting. The case against Wise has been sent to a grand jury.Reporter Regina Raccuglia contributed to this story.
