MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- A church volunteer is accused of preying on kids within his own congregation.

Matthew Jernigan is facing charges of child rape and aggravated sexual battery by an authority figure.

His two alleged victims attended Heartland Baptist Church in Rutherford County. According to authorities, Jernigan volunteered at the church.

The sheriff's department is investigating reports there may be additional victims.
