CULLEOKA, Tenn. -- A teenager in Maury County said the hunting knife found in his truck parked at school is a misunderstanding.

The Columbia Daily Herald reported 18-year-old Adam Dale Pruitt is charged with carrying weapons on school property.

Last Thursday, school resource officers were patrolling the Culleoka School parking lot when they found the knife with a 9-inch blade.

Pruitt told authorities he used it on a fishing trip and forgot about it.

But under zero tolerance, Pruitt has been suspended and faces the possibility of not graduating.
