MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Police said a 20-year-old Rutherford County child kidnapping case is solved.Christi and Bobby Baskin disappeared from middle Tennessee in March of 1989. The children were recently found and may soon be reunited with their parents.The Baskins were found Feb. 2 in San Jose, Calif., with their grandfather, Marvin Maple.Police believe Maple and his deceased wife, Sandra, kidnapped the children during a custody dispute when the kids were 8- and 7-years-old.Two people read a story about the case and called police, which led to the arrest. Police said Maple was going by the name John Bunting and has been charged with kidnapping.Parents Mark and Debbie Baskin currently live in Georgia and hope their children will now be willing to reunite with them.Maple is expected to be transported back to Tennessee on Friday to face charges.
