NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Police are searching for four men who hit a woman on the head Friday afternoon during a northwest Nashville home invasion. The home invaders shot at a neighbor on Pecan Valley Road, who tried to help stop the assault.Police said the men went inside the home and demanded money from the people inside. One of the robbers hit a female resident on the head. When someone drove up to the house, the four men were scared away. Another neighbor tried to follow the getaway car, and that's when the shooting started."My grandson said, 'They're going shoot at us,' and one of them leaned out the window and shot, and I saw the white smoke from the gun, so I backed off," said resident Jim Lewis. The neighbor said he lost the car along Briley Parkway. Police said they don't advise anyone to follow burglars because of the danger.Officers are looking for a Silver Chevy Impala, and they are hoping to get a better description of the car and the robbers as they continue the investigation.
