Scammer Swindling Franklin Residents, Police Say
Phone Calls, E-Mails Ask For Personal Info

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Police said they have received complaints from several Franklin residents about suspicious phone calls and e-mails.The scammer claims he or she is a representative from a bank or credit card company. They tell the person their account may have been compromised and was being used to make fraudulent Internet purchases.They then ask for personal information, including a credit card number.
Police said credit card companies and banks already have that information.
