Federal prosecutors said a Spring Hill man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for making child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Edward Yarbrough said in a news release Monday that 36-year-old James S. Sells Jr. was sentenced to 210 months in prison, followed by lifetime supervision, by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Echols. Sells pleaded guilty in April.

According to prosecutors, Sells was working at a comic book and collectibles store in Spring Hill in 2005 when police found more than 4,000 images and videos of child pornography. Police said he had taken pictures of sexually explicit activity involving a woman and her infant daughter at a motel in Georgia.

Sells currently has pending charges in Williamson County on charges of statutory rape and sexual battery. Police found the pornographic content on Sells' computer during the statutory rape investigation.
