A man who hit a red fox on a country road near Dover thought he would take the dead animal home, to cut off its tail as a souvenir. But Tommy Fox got quite a surprise Wednesday.

Fox told the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency that the red fox was apparently just knocked out, and it came to in his GMC.

As Fox searched for a blanket to cover the fox and keep it from attacking him, he wrecked the SUV and flipped his vehicle several times. Fox was treated at the scene, and the fox was found dead inside the vehicle.
