MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- FBI agents spent two hours raiding the apartment of a University of Tennessee-Knoxville student over the weekend.
Video: E-Mail HackingSophomore economics major David Kernell, 20, is accused of hacking into the personal e-mail account of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.Kernell is also the son of Democratic state Rep. Mike Kernell of Memphis."I had nothing to do with it, I had no knowledge or anything," Mike Kernell, 56, said to the AP."I was not a party to anything of this nature at all," he added. "I wasn't in on this -- and I wouldn't know how to do anything like that."When agents showed up early Sunday morning, there was a party going on at the apartments. Witnesses said Kernell saw them coming and ran.Three of Kernell's roommates were subpoenaed and will have to testify this week in Chattanooga.A Department of Justice spokeswoman confirmed there is "investigatory activity" in the Palin hacking case in Knoxville, but she said the search warrants for David Kernell won't be made available to the public.
