LEBANON, Tenn. -- A train that was supposed to make six stops on its way to Nashville's annual Fourth of July fireworks filled up at its first stop and left waiting passengers the rest of the way.
The Music City Star's "Fireworks Express" filled to capacity at Lebanon and didn't make any further stops along the route to Nashville on Friday.Hundreds of people were waiting with tickets at the remaining stops west of Lebanon.
The Regional Transportation Authority's phone went unanswered, and a message left on a special line set up for the fireworks train service wasn't immediately returned.Channel 4 was unable to contact a representative from the Music City Star on Friday due to the Fourth of July holiday. The authority operates the commuter rail service and had advertised the holiday train as a way to avoid traffic and parking for the fireworks show.Mount Juliet resident Sandy MacMaster told The Tennessean that transit officials appeared on the platform and offered refunds.
