NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Some homeowners in Antioch are experiencing structural problems with their homes because of sink holes.
Video: Sink Holes Causing Decks To CollapseHomeowners Sharon Dean and Beverly Law have had to replace their decks after they collapsed due to the unsteady ground.Other residents near Ashlawn Drive have experienced cracks in their homes, which are only 20 years old.
To help with the erosion, homeowners have had to put up retaining walls in some areas.Dean and her neighbors are looking into whether the collapsing decks and cracks are structural issues or the builder didn't construct their homes correctly. The homeowners have met with some city officials in hopes of a resolution, but it may involve them reaching into their own pockets for solutions.Sam Coleman, the councilman for that district, has spoken with Dean and others in the neighborhood.Coleman said he's still investigating what, if anything, the city would have to do with the problem.
