LYLES, Tenn. -- A huge dog-breeding operation in Hickman County may have been killing animals that couldn’t be adopted.
There are suspicions that the owner might have been performing medical procedures though she is not a veterinarian, Channel 4 News reported on Tuesday.According to a search warrant, a worker at Pine Bluff Kennels alerted investigators to the filth and crowded kennels.
The informant said that almost a dozen dogs were killed in mid-June because they were not adoptable.Investigators said they found several guns and a long list of medical supplies and operating tools on the property suggesting that the kennel’s owner, Patricia Adkisson, may have been performing medical procedures on the animals herself. So far, Adkisson has not been charged, but the district attorney's office said the case is far from over.
