The 682 dogs were first taken to the Nashville Humane Association where their personalities were assessed.Mary Pat Boatfield, executive director of the NHA, said energy and patience are necessary for anyone hoping to adopt one of the dogs."Probably their first year is going to be a lot of putting effort and time into working with the dogs," Boatfield said. "Although we can help them, they still have to be patient and take the time."All of the dogs at NHA will be ready to be adopted next Saturday and Sunday, Boatfield said.Boatfield said they will be given all their shots, groomed and spayed or neutered, as well as inserted with a microchip so their new owners can keep track of them.Volunteers from the Nashville Kennel Club will be helping bathe and groom the animals on Sunday, Boatfield said. The Humane Society of the United Stated estimated that the rescue effort has cost them about $3,000.Previous Stories: June 27, 2008: Shelters Across U.S. Take In Animals June 25, 2008: Hundreds Of Animals Removed From Area Farm
